{"id":139,"date":"2014-08-16T03:25:00","date_gmt":"2014-08-16T03:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.amysymons.com\/?page_id=139"},"modified":"2014-08-16T03:25:00","modified_gmt":"2014-08-16T03:25:00","slug":"experience","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.amysymons.com\/?page_id=139","title":{"rendered":"Experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">My work in several dozen schools in the Bay Area has deepened my appreciation for the opportunities and challenges inherent in each unique and diverse independent school culture. \u00a0Teachers need support and development in order to attend to three dominant factors: parent expectations, classes comprising a wide range of skills (students working above grade level along with those needing support with learning differences) and frequent new initiatives. \u00a0Most independent schools trust in and rely on their faculty\u2019s ability to deliver competency in differentiation, mindfulness and tech integration\u2014the school&#8217;s reputation and efficacy is closely bound to the values and needs of their communities. \u00a0Because of the wide ranging experience I have had with different Bay Area schools, I am familiar with the common issues that are shared by these schools while conversant and comfortable with the distinctive features of each school&#8217;s culture.
